The Lebanese Badminton Federation headed by its president, Vice President of the International Federation Jassem Kanso signed a cooperation agreement with Antonine University represented by its president Mr. Micheal Jalkh with the purpose of promoting the game, by developing, empowering the students at the university. The spread of the game will benefit both the students and the federation. The signing ceremony took place on the university premises. The signing was in the presence of the Vice president of the Federation Mrs. Rola Kabbani Majzoub, Mr. Paul Rukoz, the secretary General, and the Supervisor of Development in the West Asia Region, in the presence of the Dean of the College of Sports Sciences Dr. Antonio Soto.
The president of the Federation, Mr. Jassem Kanso, awarded the Antonine University the Golden certificate which is known as an academic accreditation, because of their involvement in the application of the Shuttle Time program, making thus the university the first in West Asia and the Asia region to receive this international recognition.
Makassed Institute
The Lebanese Badminton Federation signed a cooperation agreement with the Makassed Technical Institute on Tuesday 30 January at the headquarters of Makassed in Beirut.
The signing ceremony was held in the presence of the administrative committee chaired by the Vice -President of the International Federation Jassem Kanso, the VP of the Lebanese Badminton Federation and the head of the Women and Humanitarian Committee Rola Majzoub Kabbani, the Secretary General Paul Rukoz and the advisor member to the chair Dina Hakim Agha ( head of the Special needs committee), along with a number of representatives from Makassed.
The signing began with welcoming word from the President of the Lebanese Federation and the chairman of Makssed Institute Dr. Faysal Sinno. Both reiterated the importance of graduating professional athletes and encouraging sports activities and expressed their satisfaction of signing this agreement being confident that it will yield positive results in the near future.
The agreement focused on the need of training students and teachers , holding local badminton tournaments as well as involving players in national and international badminton tournaments.
Golf Club Lebanon
The Lebanese Badminton Federation signed a friendly cooperation agreement with the Lebanese Golf Club.
On Friday September 21st, the Federation has signed a friendly agreement with the Lebanese Golf Club in order to promote the game and ensure that members of clubs get exposed to the game.
The agreement was reached in the club premises in Beirut, attended by the President of the Federation and Vice President of the World Badminton Federation Mr. Jassem Kanso, along with the President of the Lebanese Golf Club Mr. Karim Salam. Also, were present the Vice president of the Federation Ms. Rola Kabbani, the Secretary General and the Badminton Developer Officer Mr. Paul Roukoz and the consultant members Ms. Dina Agha and Ms. Nicole Shweiry.
A positive atmosphere prevailed the meeting where the President of the Golf Club thanked the Federation for choosing the Club to host the Air Badminton tournament, commenting on the work that the federation is doing to promote and spread the game in Lebanon.
The first activity held on the premises of the club was an Air Badminton tournament on September 22, 2023.
