Role of the Athletes’ Commission
The Athletes’ Commission aims to represent the needs and views of athletes to the highest level of governance in the Lebanese Badminton Federation (FLBa) – both the Council and Committees.
Objectives
- To act as the official link between the players and the LBaF;
- To ensure that the athletes’ viewpoint remains at the heart of the LBaF;
- To proactively consider issues relating to players and give advice to the LBaF on player related matters;
- To protect clean and fair sport at all times, for example but not limited to: during AGM, OGM, EGM, Administrative Board meetings, Committees, and during tournaments;
- To represent the rights and interests of the players to the FLBa Council;
- To promote Athlete Involvement in decision-making;
- To assist with the positive development of the player’s experience and the sport as a whole;
- To organise meetings attended by all the players.
Selection and Responsibilities
The Chair of the Athletes’ Commission should be a voting member of the Council chosen by the Council itself, and has the responsibility to advise Committees and Council on matters relevant to athletes. Members of the Athletes’ Commission are chosen by the chair as defined in the regulations.
